| Here's the deal; Compaq Presario's have a bad habit of cracking and tearing the orange
flexi-cable that goes through the hinges that connects the LCD to the main board.
Compaq will not sell these cables, only the entire display assembly for $750. I
however can repair your defective display cable for one low Flat rate!More Details; I have had a huge
response to this new service and many of you can't believe it can be done- or if it will
hold up for any period of time. To assure you of the quality of this repair I will
take you through the procedure step by step.
1. The cable
is cleaned, the metal & plastic layers are removed a small bead of solder is put on
each broken trace.
2. Epoxy is
put over the repair to protect it and keep it from flexing.
3. Now here
is why the repaired cable will work like a new one... I add a extension cable that
will allow a undamaged never flexed before area of the cable to be ran through the hinge.
4. Just fold
the extra cable behind the lcd and your good-to-go :)
